About

Bouchra Boudoua is a ceramic artist and painter whose work bridges ancestral craft and contemporary design. Trained in Spatial Design at Central Saint Martins in London, she draws from her Amazigh heritage and the architectural landscapes of southern Morocco to create works shaped by place, memory, and gesture.

Dividing her time between Casablanca and Marrakech, her practice is deeply connected to earth and material. Clay lies at the center of her work, a medium through which she translates natural textures, symbols, and shifting colors into expressive surfaces that hold both emotion and cultural memory.

Her process is intuitive and physical. Gestures borrowed from painting are transposed onto clay, where the material resists, absorbs, and transforms the mark. Signs and symbols emerge gradually, allowing chance and the firing process to play an active role in the final work.

Boudoua collaborates closely with local potters in Marrakech, working alongside artisans to reinterpret Moroccan craft traditions through a contemporary lens. Inspired by everyday surfaces such as sun-baked walls, worn carpets, and architectural details, her works evolve organically during production, revealing the poetry of material and process.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in Abu Dhabi, Madrid, Casablanca, Doha, Saint Tropez, and Marrakech.
